Meadow Walker shares ‘debilitating’ abortion experience after SCOTUS knocks Roe down – NBC New York

While the world was in disarray after the start of the COVID-19[feminine] pandemic, Meadow Walker made a tough choice.

In a instagram post shared on June 24, after the United States Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 decision Roe v. Wade who recognized women’s constitutional right to abortion, late actor says Paul WalkerThe only child remembers making the decision two years ago to have the procedure after becoming pregnant.

“Today marks a huge setback in history – a profound injustice for women across the United States. There are countless women who have struggled with the decision to have an abortion,” wrote the 23-year-old model. “I too struggled with choice, but in 2020, as the world was falling apart during the pandemic, I asked for an abortion.”

She continued: “It’s a very private and personal experience – as it should be. I was blessed with an excellent doctor who supported me through the debilitating process – with their help, I am able to be a happy, healthy person I am today.”

The model concluded her message: “Now knowing that even more women will not have the opportunity to seek a safe termination of pregnancy and choose their body first is absolutely heartbreaking. In a world that constantly marginalizes women, this looks like the biggest assault of all. Banning abortion doesn’t stop abortions, it stops safe abortions.”

Walker did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding her choice to have an abortion.

These days, Walker is a married woman with a thriving modeling career. In 2021, she married actor Louis Thornton-Allan and made his runway debut, opening of Givenchy’s fall-winter 2021 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. This year, Meadow once again walked the catwalks at the event and recently performed in a Tiffany &Co. silver jewelry campaign.

In addition to focusing on her modeling career, Walker also continues to honor his father’s legacy with his work with the Paul Walker Foundation, which aims to protect the oceans and wildlife.

Last week, it was announced that her late father would be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023. “Congratulations Dad!” she wrote about instagram. “I know young you would never believe it! I also know you’re looking down with your contagious, embarrassed, grateful smile. You’ve earned it and you deserve it and more. I love you!”

Co-star of Paul’s “Fast & Furious” Wine Diesel commented, “I can’t tell you what that means. No, actually, I will at our next family dinner. Tears.”
